All our fabrics are treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. Water repellency can be maintained by a cool tumble dry after washing and periodic retreatment with suitable aftercare products such as Nikwax or Grangers. Lightweight highly windproof water repellent fabrics, exceptionally breathable and able to wick moisture away from source, ideal for sleeping bag linings and mid layer insulated clothing. Paratex™ Light is made up of bundles of fine filament yarns. It utilizes superfine yarns bound with special resins to produce a luxurious down like feel. It is created from staple yarns which mirror the compositions of natural insulations (as opposed to continuously extruded as in most synthetic fills) a variety of yarn processes are applied to give a more random effect, that is some are curled, some crimped and some are just left as they are. The random nature of the process results in a product that closely resembles the structure of natural insulators and the way they perform. Given all this technology Softie® is still easy to care for, washable and retains a lot of its thermal properties when wet. This metalized fabric is designed to reflect heat and retain warmth. A highly breathable material, which adds little to the weight or pack size of the product but provides at least 15% additional warmth whilst being undetectable by touch in the sleeping bag or garment.
